Adobe Photoshop Tutorials - Old Photo Tutorial



For my tutorial today, I will show you guys on how to convert your new and very nice photo into a very old photo using this tutorial.>>>>> *credits: Photos are from their respective owners. SO DON'T SUE ME. <<<<< -denztriker

Materials needed:

An image you want to convert (My crush!)

Black and white texture

Old yellow paper

Let’s start! Open the model’s image you want to convert into an old photo.


Next go to Filter>>> Noise>>> Dust and Scratches. Set the radius to 2.


Duplicate the image model and go to Filter>>> Blur>>> Gaussian Blur. Set radius to 2 pixels.


Then create a Layer mask. Layer>>> Layer Mask>>> Reveal All. And brush a black surface beyond the face.


Then open the black and white texture.


Copy and paste above the model’s layer. Resize it and cover the whole surface.


Then switch the blending mode to Soft Light.


Open the old yellow paper.


Copy and paste it above all the layers. Resize it and fit the whole surface.


Set the layer blending mode to Multiply and set the brightness to 150.


And go to Image>>> Adjustments>>> Levels (CTRL+L). set the levels as shown below:


Select on the duplicated layer of the model and go to Image>>> Adjustments>>> Hue and saturation. Set the levels below:


Then merge the two layers of model’s image. Then go to Image>>> Adjustments>>> Desaturate (SHIFT+CTRL+U).


Then create a new layer above it and fill with #8b6411.


Set the layer mode to Color and change the opacity to 50%.


Duplicate the black and white texture layer and merge it. Then switch the layer mode to Screen with an opacity of 75%.


And here is the result:
