Adobe Photoshop Tutorials - Coloring Effects and Applying Border Tutorial

Today I will show you on how to create a photo with coloring effects and with a film strip as a border, in an easy way. Let’s have this photo, an image of Crystal Liu, an Asian actress and my crush too.>>>>> *credits: Photos are from their respective owners. SO DON'T SUE ME. <<<<< -denztriker

Film Strip image

Let’s open the image on Photoshop.

Then duplicate the layer. Then go to Image>>> Adjustments>>> Hue and Saturation or simply hit CTRL+U. Set Hue to 0, Saturation to -40, and Lightness to 0, then click on OK.

Then create a new layer above all the layers. Click on brush tool and set the master diameter to 135px. Brush on the blank layer with color Pink.

Then next, use any color you want, I used the cyan, yellow green, red, yellow for this layer.

After brushing the whole canvas, go to Filter>>> Blur>>> Gaussian blur. Set the radius to 10 pixels and click OK.

Set the layer blending mode to Color.

After that, drag the layer with different colors then put it on the middle of the image layers. Set the copied image layer blending mode to Hard Light.

Then next, open the film strip image and paste it on a layer above all the layers. Resize it if needed and just like one below.

Then set the layer blending mode of the filmstrip layer to Linear Burn.

And were done! Here is the result of this tutorial.
