Adobe Photoshop Tutorials - Thermal Photo Effect Tutorial



In this tutorial, we are going to convert a simple image having a thermal effect.
First open the image below:>>>>> *credits: Photos are from their respective owners. SO DON'T SUE ME. <<<<< -denztriker




Then we apply Hue/Saturation: Image>>> Adjustments>>> Hue/Saturation (CTRL+U) and apply these following:



Then duplicate the layer (CTRL+J) and go to Filter>>> Blur>>> Gaussian Blur:


Then set the blending mote to Overlay:


Merge the 2 layers or just simply press CTRL+E. Then CTRL+J, and go to Filter>>> Blur>>> Motion Blur:


Then set the layer mode to Overlay and merge the layer together (CTRL+E):


Create a new layer above and fill it with White. Set the layer mode into Overlay.


Press D in your keyboard. Set your foreground color to #000099 and background to White. Create a new layer and fill with #000099


Then go to Filter>>> Render>>> Clouds. Set the later mode to Overlay and set the Opacity to 50%.




And next, create a new layer and fill it with white. Set the layer mode to Difference:


For the final step, duplicate the background layer. Then drag it above the clouds layer. And then set the layer blending mode to Darken.


Then delete those areas without red colors like the green one.


And here is our final result:
