CorelDRAW Tutorials - How to draw a pair of eyes of an Anime character

I am a fan of Anime. So I tried to look for Manga EX Studio to draw an Anime Character using that software, but unfortunately, I don't have the software, but I have CorelDRAW X5 to use. This was the first time that I will post a tutorial for using CorelDRAW. Hope you guys can follow these steps. And for our first mission is to draw a pair of eyes of an Anime character. SO let's start the tutorial !!!

Open up CorelDRAW X5.Create a New Document

with a default size of 8.5" x 11.0 ".

Then Use the Pen Tool.

Create a shape like this one below. 

It will serve as our main eye shape and guideline.

Then select the Artistic Media Tool located at the Pen Tool section.

Use this kind of Artistic media in the CorelDRAW Originals section.

Then trace the guideline using this tool. 

Re-sized it or rotate to fit the part of the eye shape we've done.

Then copy and paste the first strand we made 

and put it from the other side like I did below.

 Then same procedure, try to fill all the corners of the

 eye shape we made. Look at the image below:

Here is our final result after filling up the corners of the shape of the eye. 

Try to select all the image and hit Ctrl + G to group.

Then next tool we will use is the Ellipse Tool (F7) .

 We are now trying to create the iris of the eye.

Create an ellipse.

Then re-sized the ellipse and place it inside, as shown below:

Copy and paste the ellipse and re-sized it to form the pupil of the eye.

Fill it with black.

Then fill the iris part of the eye. 

The bigger ellipse with a light color, I used  Blue for it.

Then right click on it and select BEHIND.

Then click on the eye main shape and the bigger ellipse

 will be put behind the eye shape. See the image below:

Creat a new ellipse, smaller than the iris shape.

 Set the outline of the ellipse from "hairline" to "None".

 Then Fill it with white.

 And place it at the upper right corner of the pupil.

 See the image below:

Then copy the pupil, the ellipse with blue color and paste it.

 

Then fill the pasted ellipse with color black.

Then let's use the eraser tool (X).

 We are going to erase the lower part pf the black ellipse.

Then delete the lower part of the black ellipse as shown below:

 After that, place the black ellipse behind the iris of the eye.

 Next step, let's use the polygon tool (Y).

 

Create a polygon with 3 sides (triangle) and fill it with color white.

 Then rotate and re-size it.

 Place it at the left side of the eye as shown in the image below.

Then fill the eye shape using a lighter gray color.

Next step, copy and paste the blue ellipse.

Set the outline point to 8.

 And from color blue, switch the color to "none".

Then place it behind the white ellipse.

 It will serve as the outline of the eye.

Next, let's add the eyebrow.

 Use the Artistic Media Tool.

 And use the curve-like strand in the COrelDRAW Originals.

Then reshape it using the Shape Tool (F10) .

 Make some curves and style.

I add another strand to add some style.

 Then select all. Right click on it and select Group.

 Or just hit CTRL + G on your keyboard.

Copy and paste the whole eye.

 Then hit the Mirror horizontally tab to create the left eye.

 

Here is the result of the mirror effect.

 Then move the other eye to perfectly view our main concept,

 a pair of eyes of an anime character..

And here is it!!! A detailed pair of eyes of an Anime character!!!
