In this tutorial I will show you on how to install the Android SDK and ADT for Windows Operating System. But before that make sure you have the Eclipse installed in your computer. If you don't have, proceed first in this tutorial. (Eclipse Installation). And also make sure you have JDK also installed, if you don't have it proceed in this tutorial (JDK Installation).
Software Needed:
Android SDK Installer
If you have already installed Eclipse, try to install the Java SE Development Kit. But if you have already the Java installed in your computer, check for the location of the program. In my case, my Java is located in C:\Program Files\Java.
Then go inside the Java folder, then double click the jdk folder, then double click the bin folder. After that, copy the path location of the file. In my case, I copied C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_05\bin
Then go to Desktop, right click on My Computer, click on Properties, then click on Advance System Properties.
Then Click on Environment Variables.
Then look for Path. Double click on it.
Then click inside the textbox of Variable value, at the end of it, type in a semi-colon ';', then press CTRL V from your keyboard, then type in backslash '\' at the end. It would be like this,
;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_05\bin\
After that, click on OK. (for three times) So we're done with the Java part, next thing to do is to unzip the Android SDK file. Make sure before unzip the file right beside the Eclipse folder.
Then double click on the android folder, and double click on the SDK Manager.
You can check all the boxes or the portion you just need so that it will install all the needed updates and also the other packages needed. After that, click on Install packages... which is above the Delete packages...
Then click on the packages and click on the circle beside "Accept License".
After that, go back to the SDK folder, then double click on "tools" folder.
Then we will do the same thing we did in JDK. Copy the location of the file in the address bar.
Then go to My Computer, right click on it, select Properties. Then click on Advance System Settings.
Then click on Environment Variables.
Then double click on path, insert a semi-colon (;) at the end of the Variable value and key-in CTRL V from your keyboard, then type in backslash (\). Then click OK.(for 3 times)
After that, open your Eclipse sofware,
Then go to Help, click on Install New Software.
A dialog box will appear, the fill up the textbox beside "Work with", with this text.
Then, "Developer Tools" will appear, check on it. Then click on Next button
Then continue in the process. And restart your Eclipse. Then that's it. If you have your questions in the installation, just leave a comment below this blog. Thanks!
