In this tutorial I am going to show you on how to create a
Dark Tweet poster, somehow a Dark Knight inspired poster =). Credits: Twitter
and Dark Knight Movie. So let’s start with these materials:
Dark Blue Texture from psdgraphics.com
Twitter bird from Google images
Open the Dark Blue texture in Photoshop.
Then use the ruler to create a guideline for our work. Make
like this one below.
Duplicate the layer and set the layer blending mode to
Multiply.
Then open the twitter bird image on Photoshop.
Just select the bird by using any lasso tool or the pen tool
to do this step.
Copy the bird image and paste it on the dark blue texture.
Resize if necessary.
Add effect to the bird layer. Use the color overlay effect
and set the color to #0000ff, blue.
Here is the result.
Let’s resize it for better view.
Add Bevel and Emboss effect on it. Set the layer values
respectively:
Structure>>> Style: Emboss, Technique: Smooth,
Depth: 174%, Direction: Up, Size: 40px, Soften: 15px
Shading>>> Angle: 120, use Global Light, Altitude:
30, highlight mode: Screen, Opacity: 75%, Shadow Mode: Multiply, Color: Black,
Opacity: 75%.
After that, duplicate the bird layer.
Under the duplicated layer, add Inner Shadow effect. Set the
values:
Blend Mode: Multiply, Opacity: 75%, Angle: 120, use Global
Light, Distance: 6px, Choke: 0px, Size: 136px
Remove the guideline. Duplicate the dark blue layer
and put the layer above the all layers. Set the layer blending mode to Darker
Color.
Duplicate the bird layer (the duplicated one).
Then go to Filter>>> Blur>>> Radial Blur.
Set the Amount to 100, Blur Method: Zoom, Quality: Best.
Here is the result.
Then put the bird layer (with radial blur effect) under the
two bird layers. Then add some effect, Filter>>> Blur>>>
Gaussian Blur. Set radius to 2 pixels.
Then merge the two bird layers, except the one with radial
blur effect. To make it more real, set the dark blue texture layer, which is in
the above of all the layers, to Overlay and Opacity to 20%.
Then add some text with effects that you want. I put some
Outer glow, Bevel and Emboss, and Gradient Overlay effect for the text layer.
And this is the final result of the tutorial. The Dark Tweet
poster.
